As of November 1st, citizens from all over the United States will be able to enter Costa Rica

Costa Rica will allow the entrance to its territory to residents and citizens from all over the United States of America as of November 1st. This according to the Minister of Tourism, Gustavo Segura.

The good news comes after two other openings: As of October 1st, residents from California and Ohio can travel to Costa Rica. And as of October 15th, residents of the states of Florida, Georgia and Texas will be able to enter the country.

Until now, from September 1st, will be able to enter the country residents of: New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. Previously: Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Colorado had been announced.

The states of Washington, Oregon, Wyoming, Arizona, New Mexico, Michigan and Rhode Island are eligible for entry as of September 15.

No tourist has been reported as a carrier or infected with Covid-19

The journalist Enrique Soto Sibaja, from Radio Monumental, highlighted that Costa Rica will open the air borders with the whole United States from next November 1st.

According to the authorities, since the gradual opening of borders, that began in August, no tourist has been reported as a carrier or infected with Covid-19. So international tourism has been classified as “low risk”.

For his part, Minister Segura also called on both tourism companies and national tourists to comply with sanitary protocols and to properly manage waste.

Since August, Costa Rica has bet on a progressive opening of economic activity.

Reuters Press Agency reported: the measure is taken seven months after the borders were closed to contain the spread of coronavirus. Since August, Costa Rica already allowed the entry of travelers from specific states of the U.S., in addition to Mexico, European Union, United Kingdom and Canada.

It is important to highlight the travelers that Costa Rican authorities maintain as requirements for tourists:

1. The purchase of travel insurance and
2. Present the negative result of the coronavirus test performed less than 72 hours before admission.

Since August, the government of Costa Rican President Carlos Alvarado has bet on a progressive opening of economic activity to recover jobs and generate wealth.
