December 1st: Military abolition day

Today is a very special day for our beloved Costa Rica. 72 years ago, we took as a country the brave decision of not having a National Army. Costa Rica is one of the few countries in the world that doesn’t have an army. We celebrate that decision today!

On December 1st, 1948, President José Figueres Ferrer abolished the military of Costa Rica, in a ceremony in the “Cuartel Bellavista”, in the capital San José. He broke a wall with a mallet symbolizing an end to Costa Rica’s military spirit.

During the ceremony, he also dedicated the former military barracks to a future committed to culture. This building, located in San Jose, is now the country’s National Museum, and one of the places you can’t miss when you come to visit!

Time took care to show that abolish the army was not a mistake, that we can work with the help of our friends in the world to defend the peace.

December 1, 1948 – December 1, 2020

Since 1948 Costa Rica invests more in Health and Education. The result: young people with dreams that are integrated to the companies of the planet.

Professionals at the Mario Garita MP Dental Clinic and all our staff are proud heirs to that decision. Prepared to serve and attend with quality and dedication to our patients from all over the world.

Viva Costa Rica !!!!
