The Mario Garita Dental Experience team is currently participating in a Dental Implants Challenge to showcase the many benefits and overall effectiveness of our low-cost dental implants. As the title #AppleChallenge suggests we’ve taken to overcome the common dental challenges of eating apples, especially for individuals needing implants, or those with difficulties with their current ones. These delicious fruits have a tendency to chip, break, or knock out entire implants when the procedure is poorly done, and we wouldn’t want that to happen to you! Here’s how you can join in on the #AppleChallenge!
Is Biting Into an Apple Bad for Your Teeth?
We all know that an apple a day keeps the doctor away, but is biting into an apple bad for your teeth? Well, the answer is yes and no. Apples do contain some acids that can wear down tooth enamel, but this can easily be combated by eating your fruit with another healthy snack, or rinsing down these acids with a glass of water. Also, brushing your teeth only 30 minutes after eating an apple is best, and never directly after due to the acids.
On the contrary, apples have some pleasant benefits for oral health, including cleaning our teeth and fighting bad breath. For example, the fibrous content of apples acts as a “natural toothbrush,” working to clean our enamel, scrub away plaque, and remove other food debris. This makes these fruits a win-win since they’re not only healthy for our body but for our mouths as well.
What is the Dental Implants Challenge?
So what happens when “apples hurt my teeth,” even with dental implants? Well, that brings forth the objective of our dental implants challenge. Apples certainly have the chance to hurt our teeth if our oral health isn’t in tip-top shape, but this pain shouldn’t be a cause for serious alarm. However, it may mean it’s time to schedule a dentist appointment to ensure you do not potentially need new or replacement implants. And if you need it, it may be best to consider dental treatment abroad.
