Surrounding San Jose Valley

Only a short 45-minute trip from the city to Heredia, you can hike to La Paz Waterfall Gardens for the day or book an overnight stay at the Peace Lodge. It boasts some of the most beautiful butterfly and tropical bird sightings so that you can experience the lush diversity Costa Rica offers while staying centrally located for that beautiful dental work.

Drive over to the mountainous region of Alajuela and in about an hour and a half to reach the Poas Volcano, which not only offers stunning views of pristine aquamarine volcanic water but also provides mountain lodgings for those that want to stay for the night and cuddle under a cozy blanket and read a book.

Take a day to soak in the thermal pools located in Cartago or spend the night in beautiful Orosi.
